Voting Question: How do I get my laptop to display on my Sharp Aquos 42D62U? ?

I am trying to display my laptop on my Sharp Aquos 42″ LCD HDTV with a VGA cable. However I can’t seem to get it to work. It won’t let me change the input signal. Any ideas?
