Resolved Question: Flat Screen LCD TV and Entertainment Center?

Sunday, February 24th, 2008

All right here is the Scoop.

I want to buy a Flat Screen LCD HDTV. I want one that is either 37″ or up to 42″ that has HDMI and 1080P. I have been to Best Buy and Circuit City, I have Tried Sears and Target trying to find the best price for my money. Honestly have to say Sears has been the best deal so far with a 42″ for $949.99

The Problem is, that is you go on line to like Price Watch you can find the same TV for like $650 dollars. So where is another retail chain that sells TV’s for a great price like that. I don’t want to order on line because they don’t offer extended warranties and that is important to me. But at the same time I can’t stand it that I have to pay another $300 - $400 dollars just to get it locally.

Also looking for a good entertainment center for this that is under $300 I don’t just want the base table but an actual center. Anyone know a great place to find one?

Resolved Question: Screwed By an electronics store?

Sunday, February 24th, 2008

Bought an LCD TV 14 months ago and the sales rep told me 1 year warranty and I have to buy extended warranty. Tell him don’t have to buy anything I dont need. Well in month 14 the TV stopped workjing. Went to the store and was toldI should bought the extended warranty coz its now outta the 1 year warranty and need to get it to a repair shop and pay myself. There is nothing they can do. Phone arounf and no repair shop wants to repair as they say its not worth it. I have a bit of knowledge on electronics and now what do I have to loose, I open and see if there are any fuses, but no it has voltage switches etc. I try google the TV to attempt to repair. Guess what the TV has a 3 year warranty, not 1 year as stated by the store and my warranty is screwed. Do I have a claim against the store for misrepresentation and the manuel has nothing re warranty?

Voting Question: Cracked Laptop Screen - Canada?

Sunday, February 24th, 2008

I have a laptop which is still under warranty until April. The screen had a tiny crack in it which was hardly noticable until one day i opened it and it had spread from corner to corner and big black blothes are all over the screen. The extended warranty is from Future shop. Do you think it will qualify to get fixed? Or should i look into buying a new LCD screen only?
****blotches
i have searched online and other people had the same problem with the same model of laptop. they say the screen is too flexible.

Resolved Question: Ok so I went out and bought a 40" Samsung LCD TV.?

Sunday, February 24th, 2008

Should I buy an extended warranty through Sears or through Samsung?

Resolved Question: Are the extended warranties worth it on LCD tvs in the $700 range?

Sunday, February 24th, 2008

I normally don’t buy them but it’s served me well on both my printer and even my ipod. What about one for a new High def Tv about 32″-37″ around the 700 dollar tag?

Resolved Question: HP nightmare?

Sunday, February 24th, 2008

I am a research engineer at the National University of Singapore. My Pavilion notebook after sending for warranty repair on 3/12/2007 returned after 2 weeks on 19/12/2007 with many scratches. After just one day spoilt again (defective LCD in both cases).

After sending in again on 21/12/2007 and complaining to the service center, they agreed to send me a replacement. At first they said it would take a few days but now they say it will take two weeks.

I am sick and tired of waiting and having to constantly monitor my case. I have lost all confidence in HP. This is my first and last purchase. It has already wasted 2 months of my warranty. The laptop spoilt after only 3 weeks of use (purchased on 28/10/2007).

Today is already 28/12/2007. I wish to request a full refund for both my laptop and the extended warranty so that I can forget this nightmare and get a different brand laptop.

Is it possible to get a refund from HP? What are the channels to take?
The laptop model is dv6609tx

Resolved Question: How to get Olympus Stylus 750 repaired?

Sunday, February 24th, 2008

Does anyone know where to get Olympus Stylus 750 digital camera repaired? When I switch the camera on, the lens comes out 100% but no display appears in the LCD, the LED light flickers and the lens goes back 3/4ths of the way and the camera cannot be switched off. Unless I turn the dial to preview mode and then I can turn off the camera, on preview mode the LCD works. How can I get this repaired. This camera is out of warranty and I do not have extended warranty on it.
