I work at a radio station and we carry NASCAR races from MRN (the Motor Racing Network). The races that I do usually begin around 1:15 pm and end somewhere in the neighborhood of 5:15 pm.
However, this upcoming Sunday is the Sharp Aquos 500 from the California Speedway, and coverage doesn’t even BEGIN until 7:15 pm (the race usually starts about an hour after coverage starts). Do you, NASCAR fans, have any idea of what time this race will be over?
I’d like to get out of there as early as possible, so I’m hoping it’d be around 11:00 pm. Does that sound reasonable?
I have a 360 elite and a sharp aquos lcd tv and with the hdmi cable in i am not able to choose 1080p. why not? my tv supports 1080p and im using an hdmi cable.

When I start the TV - there is no picture. I have to shut off and restart many times ( varies from 3 times to 17 times) After that all is ok. Menu also doesnt open - screen is totally dark. Tried on different channels, AV, Video 1, 2 etc; tried with / without remote - sme problem. Any suggestions?
I just got a 32″ Sharp Aquos. I would like to connect my Dell XPS M1530 to the TV to use the TV as a monitor… what cable would I need? I know there is VGA but I also hear about XGA, SXGA, etc… what is the best one that is compatible with my setup?
I’ve narrowed my choiced down to these 2 tvs.

According to CNET these are the top 5 HDTV’s
http://reviews.cnet.com/best-hdtvs/
See here’s my problem I don’t want a plasma even though technically speaking it’s a better fit for me(I’m a movie buff). I prefer an LCD, unfortunately for me CNET’s review only includes 1 LCD in the top 5. From what I’ve been reading online Samsung seem to be the best LCD HDTV’s out there. http://www.consumersearch.com/www/electronics/lcd-tv/review.html
But my original choice was Sharp Aquos(the 1080p or 1080i models).
simply because it seemed like the perfect HDTV overall, it also included this QAM tuner which had me sold instantly.

But then there was the Samsung LN52A650 that CNET recommended, and I thought what if I make the wrong decision.

When it comes down to it there is really one thing that is most important to me than price, image quality, even performance. That is can I use either of the two TV’s I mentioned as a computer monitor?. And would I any kind of upgrades or special cables. Or could I just use the monitor cable that originally comes with the computer?.
